In Education

DMSF welcomed 650 golfers and supporters back to the course this summer for the 32nd Annual DMSF Golf Classic! This event, hosted across eight of Chicago’s greatest golf courses, helps continue our mission of providing high school scholarship assistance and educational support to Chicago students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Generous host clubs include Beverly, Conway Farms, Exmoor, Knollwood, Oak Park, Onwentsia, Shoreacres, and Skokie.

Our generous supporters contributed nearly $2.1 million through generous sponsorships, player registration, auction participation, and donations to benefit Murphy Scholars. On their behalf, THANK YOU!

This year’s DMSF Golf Classic Friend of the Year, Justin Foley, was honored at Skokie. Justin has served as a DMSF leader for 20+ years as Board Chair, Golf Classic Chair, HR Committee Chair, and more. He and his wife Erin are true champions of education and have poured so much of themselves into their community. We are so grateful for their generous spirits and support.

As there were eight courses in play, there were also eight Murphy Scholar speakers (biographies available in program below on page 3).  We were honored to host the following alumni:

  • Jacob, St. Patrick High School Class of 2021, University of Illinois at Chicago Class of 2025
  • Alen, North Shore Country Day Class of 2021, Miami University of Ohio Class of 2025
